If you live in California, chances are you love to grill up some delicious meals for family and friends while lounging around in your shorts and flip-flops in the summer heat. Here at Smokin’ Yankees, we love grilling so much, that we took it to the next level by not just grilling, but smoking meats and creating flavor profiles that will make your mouth water.

In 2008 we watched the television show BBQ Showdown and was impressed with the methods the pitmasters used when prepping and smoking their meats. Several months later we knew we had the delicious flavors and decided it was time to enter a competition.

In May 2008 we entered the Mastercut BBQ Championships in Modesto, California where we placed 6th out of 48 teams. We were thrilled to be competing with some of the best pitmasters in California and placing in the top ten.

In July 2009 we achieved a Grand Championship in Santa Maria, California, it was our first and we were excited to say the least.
